I had intended to keep detailed notes of our journey across the Pennine Way. Partly for my own memory, and partly because if I was ever to write about it, wouldn't it be far better to have some actual information to give people, rather than a series of rants about Karim, my feet and sheep?

Well, it would, but I didn't, so what are you going to do?

I also enjoy writing - as you may have noticed by the sheer volume of my random ramblings. So, I thought, The Pennine Way would give me ample time to formulate and write any number of stories....

But that didn't happen either. I was too tired when the day finished, and too busy walking while the day was going on. My mind was wondering from one subject to the next without any real direction. I just found myself focussing on whatever would distract me the most from the task in hand.

After a few days, this turned out to be a song. A song about The Pennine Way.
