We arrived in Surat Thani after taking another overnight train, this time not infested with cockroaches, we took a bus for 2 hours and arrived in Khao Sok which is surrounded by National Parks, lakes and lots of lovely views. Our Intrepid group for Chiang Mai consisted of: Effie and Anna, 2 girls from Blackpool, Catriona and Suzanna, 2 nurses from Glasgow, Emma from Milton Keynes who works for NVQ, Lisa who has been travelling for 2 years and has no fixed address! Fiona, a dentist from Scotland who is going to work in Oz and Jan who is also from Scotland.... No boys so we can look as minging as we like!! We started our tour of Chiang Mai on 7th September and left Bangkok by overnight...

We are now on the Island of Koh Samui. It took us 2 hours from Koh Tao by boat and we were shattered so went straight to the hotel by privte bus! On the journey we were driving past some lovely resorts that looked really posh and got our hopes up that ours would look the same but I think we got dropped off in the rubbish part of Koh Samui. It was very commercial and busy but oh well thats what you get when you are on a budget! We spent the evening looking at all...

After a gruelling bus and boat trip which took us all in all 9 hours, we arrived on the island of Koh Tao and oh my word it is lovely. The weather has been really good however slightly over cast at the moment but that is quite nice when its so hot! We found a really nice place to eat and we went there every night. One night we were drinking buckets with a swedish, an oz and some finnish divers. The buckets consisted of Thai whiskey, red bull and coke. Quite nice...

Finally we arrived at our hotel after a gruelling 3 hour hot bus ride from the airport. Today we have spent the day walking around, we did a river boat cruise and caught a Tuk Tuk. Nippy lil car/carts! good fun. We have booked a trip to Koh Tao which will take us by bus and boat that leaves tomorow @ 5:30 am and arrives @ 2 pm. We will stay there for 3 nights and then we go onto Koh Samui by boat for 4 nights and then back to Bangkok which will take 12 hours :( ...
