We crossed the border into Panama with little complaint and a little mucking around of official stamps in the immigration office. You'll have to see the photo of Sammy with a stamp on his head. It was pretty funny.
To get to the islands of Bocas you have to catch a boat across. The boats have to run about 30 minutes to get to the islands and they seem to treat it like a race and the lead between us and the other boat changed so often it was like in a cartoon. Nikki said she wasn't feeling great when we arrived and air-con was a must so we escaped the combi hippies and found a whole dorm room for $25US.
Not much happened for the next few days as Nikki was in bed most of the time with Tonsillitis. I did see some funny things people watching though. As it's on the Caribbean there are lots of people of African descent riding cruiser bikes around and they have their own novel way of going 2 up. The passenger sits on the big cruiser handlebars but faces backwards. When you see 2 grown men face to face riding passed it looks pretty strange.
Nikki started feeling better after a couple of relaxing days so we headed to the capital - Panama City.
