We arrived at Da Lat airport in the pouring rain and (more unusually) cold weather! Jumped on the bus to town and checked in at a cosy little converted French townhouse (could do with a clean though!)

After lunch at 'peace cafe', a popular spot to soggy travellers, we set off to window shop at the market (which had a roof!) and sampled the delicous dried fruits. Later we had a look at the Disney-esque cathedral and walked the hilly streets. There is a really nice feel to the town.

In the morning we set out for a walk around the neary lake, the pleasant stroll was soon a trudging walk back to the hotel just to get a break from the returning (with a vengeance!) rain. We hastily arranged a bus for the following day; out of the highlands and to the beach!

An American guy we met recently summed up Da Lat pretty well; "It's a really, really nice place; just very, very boring" - Pesky weather!
