Frau Sarah Rides the Trains
Today was a true testament to the efficiency and punctuality of the train system here in Europe. Paris- to Stuttgart Hbf get off walk down 3 tracks get on. Stuttgart to Munchen-Pasing- get off walk down 8 tracks get on. Munchen-Pasing to Garmisch-Partenkirchen. No delays no problems, just quick transfers and amazing views.
So much of what I saw today was farmland and cozy small towns with trees dotted in all the right places. I did not expect to see so many houses with solar panels on their roofs and wind turbines in many of the fields. Go Germany for being green! It seemed that all of a sudden out of a very flat journey the Alps sprung into view and the snow scene arrived. The houses look like they are out of a storybook and the air is clean and cold with a hint of sunshine. I like Garmisch very much so far. Took an outdoor hot tub with a view of the Alps and had a light dinner. I am exhausted and am looking forward to resting here before I set off to Italy.
Tomorrow- Ride to the highest peak (Zugspitze 2962), maybe ride a bike to the gorge, massage, and rest. Guten Nacht.
Wednesday- Train to Milan
Lessons Learned:
-
Don't leave your camera lying around. Thank goodness for honest people.
-
Everything works out in the end...if it's not worked out, it's not the end. True.
