Wow. Flew into Cairo yesterday and saw the Egyptian Museum. Real mummies! Including Ramses II! It's really creepy and cool at the same time how you can still see remnants of the skin, hair, eyelids, and nails of people (Pharaohs, etc.) who lived so so so so so long ago. There are a million and one things to see in the museum, it's gigantic.

Today we went to Giza to see the three pyramids. The second pyramid looks like its the largest even though the Great Pyramid is the biggest. We went inside the second and saw the sarcophagus in the main chamber. Going inside the pyramid is really intense as there are very narrow, steep passages and little air. After sitting on some rocks in the desert to soak up one of the surviving ancient Seven Wonders of the World, we rode horses around the surrounding desert to get a better view of the six pyramids (there are three smaller ones in front of the third pyramid) as well as the Sphinx. The owners of the horses kept asking if we wanted to go fast and hesitantly, I said yes. We galloped across the desert and once again, I thought I was going to die.

It is really difficult being tourists here as you get harassed a lot to ride the camels or horses or come into this store or that. We, especially being two little girls here, are always on guard, which makes for a very exhausting day. Locals always say we look Egyptian and always ask us if we have husbands. Lizzie tells them she is engaged and I always say I'm married. Sometimes we ward off the merchants by speaking Chinese or Spanish and saying "no English, no English". Sometimes they catch us saying "we just heard you speaking English!!" At that point, we laugh and try to walk away faster! We got back to the hostel around 7pm and are just about ready for bed! Last night we met a guy who was on his birthright in Israel and now just traveling here named Sebastian .. funny, huh?
