Hi everyone! Today was so great. I started at a new placement where I will be Tuesdays and Fridays until further notice. I am working at Mariano Juvenil, which is a shelter/temporary house for abused girls who range in age from 9-16. Like I mentioned before the schools have a two week break so all the girls were there waiting for us to think of things for them to do. Buenas! Sorry about the lack of posts, things have gotten busier! This weekend we went to Monteverde, which was about a five hour drive through the mountains. We left right after lunch on Friday, but still ended up getting caught in the rain. We hired a driver for the weekend named Max, who we are pretty sure was our guardian angel, which I'll get to in a minute. Day Four....I am tired! I had my first day at the nursing home and let's just say it was not exactly what I signed up for. Basically it is exactly like working at the nursing home in Bloomington but add in Spanish--and really hard to understand Spanish. Hola! It is about 9:30 here and we just finished finalizing our plans for this weekend. We decided to go to Monteverde, which is supposed to be the best cloud forest and natural reserve in Costa Rica.
