Heya everyone I am going to try and be better at the blogs again now. So when I left you last I was about to go for a steak in BA and oh my it was the best steak of my entire life and will be the best I ever taste. It bwas truelly massive 4 huge fillet steaks and all these taster pots AMAZING I absolutely loved it. On my last day in BA we went to the markets as it was a sunday and just wondered the streets which was nice and went to a park even though it wasn't that warm. Then we had to catch our flight which was delayed by an hour so was at 3am so it was a late one but I guess helped us adjust to the change in time. As we crossed the international date line we lost a hole day and completely chnaged what time was night and day. Theflight was good though as it was pretty empty so we go multiple seats each to lie and sleep on which was good.
I am now in NZ and it has surprised me as it is sooo like England I feel only a step away from home here. It is a whistle stop tour round as even though its only just bigger than England there is a lot to pack in in a month. We flew into Auckland and had the day just looking around went to the harbour and got the beaurtiful views from the sky tower. Also went to the museum for a bit of culture. Then it was time to pick up our campervan now named Norman as it is a bit of an old man and struggles to get up hills but is pretty sturdy. I feel very grown up having this massive campervan and having to learn all about it. Its pretty cool we have hot water, shower, toilet, cooker and fridge in it so we are self sufficient it is a squish with 4 of us and all our bags though.
We travelled from Auckland to the bay of islands where we did a boat trip around all the different islands and saw the hole in the wall! From there we did a tour to Cape Reigna which is the most northern point of NZ and meant we got to go on the ninety mile beach which surprisingly isnt actually ninety miles long only 64miles. It was a really fun day and got to see alot the light house at the end was really pretty and is very spiritual in the mauri culture which we learnt lots about. From here we travelled down to Rotarua where we bathed in a natural hot spring and went on a mauri cultural evening at the maiti tribe and it was amazing. They performed many of their traditional dances and songs and even did their haka for us it was brilliant. Then we ate their traditional food which is a hangi which is lots of meat cooked underground basically yummy! Next day we went to Te Paui where we saw kiwi's the dying bird species native to NZ they are so cute. Also saw lots of geothermal activity such as mud pools and an impressive geyser. Now we have moved on to Taupo which is a big lake and we had a walk around and visited Huka falls. It is pretty chilly here and is only going to get colder as we go south which should be fun in the campervan especially as most nights we end up in some random forest pull in which are government campsites which basically menas a scrap of land but its an adventure so I love it. We move on to Wellington tomorrow so will give you the next update when I have to share x x
