Today we are hiring a car and heading north, in about 4 hrs we should make Turoa ski field. There is snow as can be seen in the distance in the photo taken 4 days ago. Is there enough to ski? We decided to have an evening ride on the Wellington cable car. It was shown on the map as a black line with a large picture of a tram on it. So we walked to the start of the line, found nothing, then walked to the location of the tram, nothing. so today is saturday and we wake up in wellington at the base of the North Island. We need breakfast so we find a wheat free cafe but it is not open til 10 so we move on to find another closed wheat free establishment- desparation!!
