We arrived in Katoomba mid afternoon, this is where we are staying for the next two nights. A bed and breakfast called the Avonleigh. A very old establishment with only twelve rooms and antique furniture. I loved it at first sight.

We did find a better sideroad and stopped to see Grovett's Leap. It was pouring rain by this time and the clouds had moved in so this is not a great pic. But get the idea of how high up we are.

During our climb up the mountains, we went to an elevation of about 3500 feet. All our ears popped. We ventured off the main road once to see Victoria Falls. However after about .25 km in on the dirt road the car was bottomming out too much on the sandstone surface, we decided to turn around, but took this pic first. As you can see we are up in the clouds and it started raining.

Bought a dozen apples at an apple U-Pick along the way. They were only picked this morning. Were called Gala, but tasted like Cortland.

A few kilometres further on we all needed a pit stop and came across this place in the wilderness, the first one we saw in 120 km. Picked up some coffee. BTW I must mention something about the coffee here. You cannot buy a regular cup of coffee here, say like at Timmy's. The only coffee you can get here is the fancy stuff like Cappuccino and Starbucks could take lessons from them on how to charge for it. The cheapest place we found was McDonalds and that was $3....
