19:00 - Today After breakfast and after arranging the pick up time for my 'panoramic' tour in the afternoon, I went off for a walk in the Pelourinho which is just 300/400m from the Pousada I am staying at. In day time it all looks better, although it is evident that the stretch between where I sleep and the start of the historic centre is definately a rough area. It is also very important always to do a left left coming out of the hotel...if you go right it gets ...

22:00 - I spent the day travelling today. I left the hotel in Santiago at 9am and at 9pm I was dropped off in Salvador de Bahia at Pousada Redfish where I am lodging for the next 4 nights. I flew forst to Sao Paolo and then had a connecting domestic flight into Salvador. The only excitement of the day was at destination where my pickup did not turn up so I took a taxi outside the airport after waiting a half hour and trying to call the agency. As the taxi approac...

19:30 - This morning I woke up just before breakfast finished so I rushed down and then came back to bed. I sorted out and uploaded the pictures from the four days on Easter Island. I also arranged to go on a city tour in the afternoon as I didn't have time to take a proper look around the last time. At around 1pm I finally got dressed and went for a quick lunch before being picked up. Our guide Sam was pretty knowledgeable and it was a lovely afternoon. La Moned...

22:30 - Today I left Easter Island. I was a bit sad to be going and wish it was closer so that I could rationally think of going back...but I am guessing its remotness is part of what makes it special. After breakfast I went off to the Correo (Post Office) to get my passport stamped with an Easter Island stamp :-). After which as I still had the scooter, I drove around town, went down to the two tiny harbours, stopped and took a couple of last minute pictures... ...

23:00 - It's mother's day in the UK, so, HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to all the mummys reading. The weather this morning was glorious! It's been cloudy for the whole of my stay here and finally I saw blue skies :-))). Today was my last full day on Easter Island. Tomorrow I leave :-(.
