Hi Everyone

We are currently in Hanoi in Vietnam. The last days have involved a lot of land covering, the flight from Heathrow to Bangkok was smooth and i clocked a valuable four hours sleep, Pierre got none! We nearly got screwed by a taxi driver and our room at Samran Place had views of the Slums and construction but all was well and we were in the magical city of Bangkok. That night we walked the streets through Siam Square, had a lovely meal where Pat was served cold duck and a pint of Singa Beer was 1.80. We then got lost and were surrounded by Hobos and rabie infested dogs so we got a tuk tuk back to the hotel. We shopped around for some food the next day and then headed back to the airport for our flight to Hanoi. This was also fine and that evening we arrived in Hanoi airport and got a taxi to the Victory Hotel in the depths of the city. The hotel is incredible for 2 pounds a night plus breakfast and today was fantastic. We got set out at 10:30 and tried to find Koem Lake, on the way we nearly got conned by a genious lady who tried to sell us a banana for two pounds after all we did was have a picture with her, we gave her eight pence and then ran. The lake was cool and we had a cheap/nice vietnamese lunch. Its now early evening and we are heading into the town to check out the funky monkey bar and Le Pub.
