oooh ..... The Rhino .... he from UK
I decided to leave Melbourne on the 1st July due to the continuing cold. Whereabouts I was going to go depended entirely on the cost of the flight ..... so wondering in to the nearest travel agents I decided on Brisbane - travelling there by flight along with a cool Danish guy named Jonas I had met.
What to say about Melbourne ...... well the hostel I stayed in, The Friendly Backpacker, was awesome. Met some fantastic people, and it was a great introduction to travelling alone. All fears I had about not meeting people were completely unfounded and I really enjoyed my stay there.
Went to Phillip Island which is south of Melbourne and it\'s here where I nearly got stampeded into the ground by hoards of Japanese tourists trying to photo the penguins we had all come to see! Despite this near death experience, it was an amazing experience to see hundreds of penguins waddling into shore at sunset. Went to some cool museums too, the Gold Treasury museum was pretty cool. It showed how Melbourne was formed on the back of a gold rush in the early 1850\'s was founded as a settlement in 1837 ....... etc etc (Anyone who wants extra details please feel free to email me!).
Brisbane next stop.
