Ok so these are very llate due to the interesting internet we had towards the end of our trip, but I kept a written journal so here I am updating you fools.
Getting through the border with China took a while as we were travelling on a Friday and the Cinese love going to Hong Kong. We have heard from a couple from Hong Kong that this is because they like to shop there and they know it will be genuine whereas in China its fake. Not sure how true it is. But we made it and after much circling a building finally found the way up to our hostel.
Our first stop in Hong Kong was the Peak, we headed up via the railway. At the top we got some beautiful panaramic views of Hong Kong. We even saw some birds of prey up there. We got a little bit hungry and due to the fact that everything on te peak is hugely expensive, we ended up eating at Burger King. Our first burger transgression since travelling but it was the Burger King with the best views in the world. We walked down the peak and followed the Mid Levels escalator down. This escalator goes up the hill to help Hong Kongers who are tired of walking. Its genius.
We crossed Victoria Harbour using the ferry to Kowloon and saw a fabulous sunset behind Hong Kong Island. We had tea at the Starbucks that looked over Victoria Harbour (beautiful); Hong Kong was our western splurge. In the evening we watced the Symphony of Light. It was very cool and slightly cheesy. We got some meatballs on the way home.
Our second day in Hong Kong we explored the Kowloon side around the long Nathan Road before heading back for our bus to Guangzhou.
Our last day in Guangzhou saw us get our coats - yay! We are preparing for the cold.
We had a very early morning train to Chengdu.
