Hiiiiiii! Happy holidays ;)
We are on our way to Toronto to spend Christmas is Niagara falls :) Very exciting!
So the last blog was just before San Francisco! We had a lovely time in SF! Although It was v v v cold and it is full of nutters :p
We went to Alcatraz island and did an audio tour with former guards and prisoners it was an amazing experience!! We both had a great time!
We also saw the aquarium on the pier and had clam chowder in sour dough bowls from the famous boudins!!! Was lovely. And we also went to the exploritorium - possibly the most awesome place everrrr! It's hard to explain just how cool as it sounds a bit lame but it's full of physics and chemistry experiments that you do yourself like giants magnets and motors and circuits and chemicals and stuff. Like being in a science lab :D there was a giant smoke ring thing aaaaand look it up. It was cool I promise :p we also went to the California academy of science Where they have one of the biggest and best planetariums where they showed 360° movies on earthquakes (for eddy) and space/planet formations (for me!). They also had reindeer and an imitation rainforest with oarrita and butterflies flying around (much better than the real forests we've been in as the snakes and spiders were in tanks :D
We also got to see the golden gate park and bridge. We also went to Lombard st (which is the zigzagging st) we stayed in nob hill and the centre. We saw the pier. Rode the tram. And of course ate lots of amazing food!! Including cheesecake factory :D we went to Macy's and bloomingdales and the original old navy shop.
Then we headed to veeeeegassssss!!! How to describe Vegas?? Like a 24hr playground and arcade for adults! Lots of great food, flashing lights, shows etc. The hotels are like shopping centres with restaurants etc you walk out your room to casinos! It really is unlike anywhere else! Have to see it for yourself.
We went to a magic show (which was pants Hahaha!!) by Tommy wind (who was once famous????)
We saw a cirque du soliel called zumanity which was unreal!! We'll remember it forever I think ha!
And we saw a hypnosis show which was unbelievable! Soooooo funny! Called Marc savard. Great show!
We also went and did a helicopter ride of the lake and hoover dam and Colorado river and the canyon etc then we landed and got off and eddy went quad biking and I went western horse riding!! It was just Eddy and the guide and he was completely nuts! So they had a great time! Western riding was wonderful - much better than the European classical style.
The place we landed was an old haunted mining town and we got to tour the old mine and there were actual skeletons that they'd found while opening it up again! It was a famous old town and had been in a film etc was really creepy like hills have eyes hill billy creepy haha!!
Once the sun set the temperature plummeted - even with hats scarves gloves coats etc it was frweeeeeeezing!
And of course we went and shot some guns. Hand guns. Shot guns. Machine guns. Uzi's. Rifles. Etc. Etc. It was amazeballs. Scary as hell but such an incredible experience!!!! Filmed it all don't worry guys. You can see me wet my pants blow by blow :D and we got a T-shirt!!!
We then headed towards the southeast to Jacksonville where we started our road trip in Florida :D we got a free upgrade and got a very nice ford focus boooooyah.
We went to st Augustine which is a lovely little town the oldest in America and it even had a little fortress castle thing! It was the closest to an English village we'd been in almost eight months!
We went to an alligator farm which was awesome (running out of adjectives now) where they were only a few feet away and you could buy food for them and feed them for 25¢ (13p). They started fighting and making a really harrowing sound! We managed to record it... Like a primeval lion roar!
We went on to Daytona beach ate nice food etc
Then the Kennedy space center was great. We got to see the apollos and astronauts suits and touch moon rock and rocket launch simulation etc. We also got to talk to an actual astronaut engineer (retired) who spent 25+ years working on rockets and shuttles!! We talking about fuel cooling and hydrogen etc and he thought I was an engineer :D
We then headed to Orlando where we got to go to universal studios and universal island of adventures (probably awesome if you're a kid - not so awesome if you're not!) And SeaWorld (really really really awesome!) And Busch gardens (american theme park. Nuff said!).
We saw all the shows with sealions, dolphins, whales (yes eddy managed to stay in his seat :p), ice skating, acrobatics, violinists, dancers etc etc. And of course the food. Words cannot describe just how amazing the food is!!!! I didn't even know such food existed in the world! Their BBQ. Seriously. No wonder they're so fat. I can't say I blame them! (although there doesn't seem to be much difference between the yanks and brits in terms of fatness).
Now on the plane to Atlanta then Toronto. The plane has WiFi. Ubercool. There's been a big ice storm in Atlanta though so lots of turbulence!!! Hopefully we can land ;) fingers XED we don't have to walk to Niagara.......
Think that's all of it! Hope everyone has a fantastic Christmas! Have a good relax and eat plenty :) love you all loads see you in a few weeks!!!!!
