32 I flew from Sydney to Christchurch in New Zealand which took three hours. I was wearing shorts and t-shirt and everybody else was wearing big coats and gloves and scarfs, and I got a few funny look. O well f*** it. As soon as I walked into the hostel I was staying at, I saw two lads who I met in Thailand which was random. There was not much to do, apart from to go and look at a view point over the whole of Christchurch. As I was going to catch a bus to get there, a girl stopped me who I met when I climbed a volcano in Indonesia. Quite random.
She was also going to the view point aswell with her lesbian mate (lesbian I think) so I jumped in there camper van. The views were amazing and was a good start to New Zealand.
I booked on to the kiwi expierience bus. At first everybody seemed shy and kept to themselves. We went to a place called Kaikoura which took about three hours. I was going to go whale watching but it was too expensive, so just got twenty four bottles of beer instead ha.
From Kaikoura we went to Nelson which took about 2.5 hours. I met a good group of lads and we went on a walk to the centre point of New Zealand. After that there was nothing else to do. We got told that the lord of the rings ring was made in Nelson so we went on a mission to find the jeweller. After about thirty minutes we finally found it but it was closed,doh!! We went out that night and got pissed. On the way home it was raining and cold, and I had a pizza which felt like being back in Birkenhead.
From Nelson we went to Westport which took four hours and was s***...nothing to do at all except get drunk, but everybody was saving themselves for the next night which was to be one of the biggest piss ups in New Zealand.
It was in a place called Manhinapua and the pub is called the poo pub. You go fancy dress there and the theme was to go as something beggining with the first letter of your name. The other catch is you can only spend $15. I could not think of anything for ages and then somebody said rampant rabbit so I decided the hard task of going as that!
We all went to a $2 shop then to a charity shop. There was fourty of us so you can imagine how hectic it was. I ended up buying pink kids leggins which I had to cut, pink shorts, kids black shorts with kitchen rolls in as the batteries, pink bunny ears, and as I was walking down the street in this little village I saw a kids toy hand in the window so that was the final part of the costume. It come to $14.50 ha.
We went back to the hostel and got changed. There was some really good costumes, and they were funnier as we had so little to spend. A lad Paul went as a prostitute and was looking for the sluttiest, and trampiest costume he could find. He even had a condom hanging out of his knickers. A lad went as Adam (adam + eve) with just a leaf covering his cock. Nick went as naked nick, and just had clingfilm around him ha. There was a book with all costumes people had previously come as and there was peodofiles, rapists, kkk, tampax, period, pube haha s*** good. It was such a funny night.
From the poo pub we went to Franz Joseph. On the way is state highway 6 (sh6) which is supposed to be a top ten scenic drive in the world. We got into Franz Joseph and the next day we climbed the ice glacier which was unbelieveable but there is no point going on about it as you need to do it to no how amazing it is. We got back the hostel and got into a twenty man hot tub and there was only men in the hot tub so it was literally a twenty man hot tub ha!!. Class after being on the ice all day.
The next morning We got picked up to do a sky dive over the ice glacier. I was a little nervous but not too bad. The plane could only fit two sky divers at a time so me and Marty got in. As soon as we got to 12,000 ft the door opened and I s*** myself. Marty was infront and was to go first. His skydiver edged him towards the door and before I knew it he flew away. I was s***ting one thinking what the f*** am I doing jumping out of a plane and thinking that I was not strapped in properly. He edged me towards the door and said smile to the camera. I was looking down and was like looking out of a window of a plane. Everything s*** small. Before I knew it I jumped out and after two seconds of free fall it was amazing, You go s*** fast and its hard to breathe. It was such a good adreniline rush. I was buzzing all day.
I got back in the hot tub with all the men again, and when I got back to the room I put my shorts out to dry. In the morning as we were leaving I grabbed my shorts and they were actually frozen...school boy error.
From Franz Joseph we went to Wanaka which took about an hour, then went on to Queenstown. It is the craziest part of New Zealand but I was surprised to see how amazing the scenary was. The lakes and mountains were beautiful. The whole way around everybody had gone on about eating a ferg burger so we went straight there after we put our bags in. It was $14 but massive. Used to get one on the way home every night, and regret it straight after. On one night I got pulled up with a couple of the lads to sing hero by Enrique Iglesias..dont do what that was about like. One night I bumped into Brigs sister Nicky aswell which was s*** random.
We were all gutted to leave Queenstown as some of our group were staying for longer, and because it was amazing place. The best place in New Zealand by far.
From Queenstown we had to go back to Christchurch which took eight hours, then flew into Wellington. Then next day I left the rest of the lads to travel on my own . I went to Taupo which has the largest volcanic lake in the world and could apparently fit Singapore inside and still have extra room...tell all your friends!! On the bus I was sat next to a smelly Indian guy so I was glad to get off the bus.
From Taupo I went to Aucland which took about six hours. We drove past som mountains and one volcano called Mount Ruapehu which was Mount Doom in lord of the rings. I also went to a place called Hobbiton which was were s*** loads of lord of the ring stuff was done.
New Zealand is an unbelievable place and the scenary you cant even describe. I met some amazing people again but I was looking forward to getting some hot weather in USA!!
