We got a bus to Santa Barbara and then on to San Diego, which took 12.5 hours. I was staying in downtown San Diego and got a train and bus to Pacific beach the next day which was beautiful. I met a couple of lads, one from Scotland and one from northern Ireland. They were in the British Marines and they had hired a car in New Orleans. The gave the man a bit of chat and said they were in the marines. The stupid american said "the royal marines?" and they said yes. He then went crazy and said thats amazing and how cool it must be to work for the queen haha. He was goin to give them a rubbish car but then said to take a ford mustang instead haha stupid typical american. They had done a road trip from New Orleans to San Diego. I asked them if the petrol was cheap. They said it probably would have been if they never drove like d*** heads haha.
I went to a club with the two lads and was meeting Zoey and Lawrence there. We bumped into a couple of americans who said there was a club down the road which is the best in the area. It was $10 to get in, but we tried to get in the vip way as the queue was shorter. The bouncer asked us for our flyer or name. Hugh said we are in the military and were just after a good time, and that there helping in Washington. He said show us your army i.d's and they did and he let us in and told us to have a great night haha quality.
Hugh and Will left the next day to Vegas and somebody in the hostel said that they are going to Tijuana in Mexico for the day and night with the hostel and then you get the last train back at 2am. 10 of us ended up going. Nobody else would go because of swine flue, but mainly because there had been some rapes and quite alot of robberies as tourism has gone down alot. We got the train to the border and walked through a walkway and some more gates and then we were through. As soon as we got through the culture was completely different and you could tell we were in Mexico. Kids were running up to you with Mcdonalds cups trying to get money off you, juggling for tips and men were trying to get you to buy soveiners and stuff. We went to a bar which sold $2 corona's and we all put sombrero hats on which was funny.
After that we went a bar to eat some food. We had ordered some food, and a man who worked there started blowing a whistle and dancing. He then started pouring tequilla and corona down our mouths, and some people were spilling it everywhere ha. He sounded like he doing the blow your whistle song haha.
After that we went into a little shop and done some tequilla tasting. We drank a shot of Moonshine which is 96 percent. My chest was burning for seriously about five minutes and i felt a little wobly ha. We then had a shot a Mexican tequilla and after the moonshine it tasted like apple juice ha.
After that we went to a club which was $2 corona's all night and 3 for $5 margaritas. It also has a mechanical bull in there. I had a go and as I fell off I hit a part which did not have any mats and I could hardly walk ha. It was such an amazing and random night. We walked back to the border and got asked a few questions about bringing things back, showed our passports, and then got on the train back to our hostel in San Diego. Good times. I stayed a couple more nights and chilled after some s*** good nights in San Diego.
