That's it I've done it!!

Woke up this morning, feeling a lot better. I've even managed to keep a banana inside me! Apparently I had food poisoning, which was not the best thing to have when cycling, let alone when you're in Kenya far from hotel toilets!

At the last water stop today, we had a crowd of locals gathering to see the sight of these women on bikes, and I started talking to a local elder. He welcomed us to his village and started telling me about all the things he knew about England. He wanted us to go back to his village again one day, so he could welcome us again. That's exactly how everyone is in Kenya, so friendly and they would love you to come back and visit them.

We cycled on down to just out side Kisumu, where we all gathered together, so we could finish the ride as one big group. The tour leaders came round with string and balloons, which was a surprise, and after we had got our breath back, we blew the up balloons and tied them to our helmets. As you can imagine, 63 women, on bikes, in Kenya, with balloons on their bikes and helmets, drew quite a crowd! We wasn't too sure how we would all keep together in the town's traffic, and then we saw how. We had a police escort and they stopped all the traffic, while we took up half the road and cycled into town. The police stopped cars from joining the road or going round the round abouts, the road was all ours! It was a fantastic sight, everyone waving, ringing bells and massive grins on our faces. We turned into the hotel, cheering, and was met with champagne and a medal. I just burst into tears, I had completed the challenge, the hardest challenge of my life.
