Totally coincidencially I met some family of Daan and we had a good time together.
Saturday was a tough day, because I couldn't find motivation to pack everything back up, but more because I followed a cycle path along a river, what seemed to be the wrong river. But I had gained some energy since my restday of yesterday, so I still cycled all the way to Stefano. It was already dark when I arrived, but I could take a warm shower and during dinner we had good conversations, so that made this day better.
When I woke up Sunday it was raining cats and dogs. Thunder and lightning! But luckily after breakfast it was way less and I started cycling in the country roads Stefano had told me. That was nice. At Francesco and Antonella's place I got a warm welcome and we shared dinner with some of their friends.
Monday morning it was raining again, so I was a bit sad. And then I also found a lot of hills to take, what made me think. I decided to still cycle to Greece, but not all the way back, because I've thought about the things I wanted to think about and done the things I wanted to do, so it has been good. I take a train somehow back and cycle, more or less flat, through Germany and the Netherlands. Luckily I met Katja and Kees in Opicina, a small village close to Trieste. We ate a nice pizza and talked for a long time. So nice to see them again! And because we talked longer than I had expected, they brought me over the border to Postojna in Slovenia, from where I only had to cycle a little bit to Malan and Matjaz. I pitched my tent in their garden and we ate a traditional Slovenian dinner with potatoes, beans, garlic and sausage. Nice!
The next day I enjoyed a breakfast with bread and apfelstrudel. That doesn't happen every day ;p. The rest of the day was a bit sad, with a lot of clouds. But funny thing: I met some cyclists from Germany, who are also going to cycle along the coast to Greece. We talked a bit and when I cycled on there were less hills and I even found a cyclepath (more or less) along a road. At Eva's apartment we talked about a lot of different stuff and after a shower and dinner we went to a club for a beerpongevening and some drinks. There were more Dutchies, so that was nice company. I liked it!
Wednesday was very relaxed. I turned my alarm off and woke up from the sunlight. Nice! Together with Eva we walked a bit through the city centre of Ljubljana and at the cat café we drank a latte machiatto. Then we went for some lunch and visited the very special triple bridge (not). ;p Ljubljana is not that big, so after that we walked back to the apartment, where I downloaded a GPS map from openstreetmap. I should have done that earlier, because now my GPS works way better than before!
