So we've made it back to Koh Samui and arrived at Mantra Samui, the lush hotel that has inspirational quotes all over the place - Staff shirts, pathways, attached to objects around the room with different ones being left on the bed each morning ..."You are a perishable item - live accordingly"
Love it!
Since this place was a spa retreat it was only right to book ourselves in for a 2hr massage for the following morning! We choose a full body massage with foot reflexology...... The masseuse was looking she didn't get a foot in the face, she was probably taking it easy on us as we had asked for medium pressure but jeez did they get deep into the muscles, not the best with pain so had to keep breathing through it till she went onto another body part or decided to take it a little easier. Easy to say we were extremely loosened up after but were left with a few niggles here and there ha!
We followed this extreme "relaxation" by relaxing some more, making the most of the beaming hot sun, lounging around the pool taking in the amazing views and scenery- a whole coastline of Koh Samui! The infinity pool was finished off brilliantly with a swim up bar, so obviously in order to cool down sufficiently we had to take a dip in the pool and partake in a few casual drinks in the sun, whilst cooling off obviously ha! We thought it would be rude to pass on the cocktail happy hour also, so we enjoyed a few of the tasty and addictive cocktails that were on offer, followed by a few more, followed by a fee complimentary cocktails from the bar staff, needless to say we had lots of fun and giggles that afternoon!
We also got chatting to some more holiday makers and travellers, these were from Australia so listened to some tales of home and some more about their trips around Thailand - the place everyone has fallen in love with and could travel for a life time! Loving meeting new people and listening to what their lives have been like so far!
We planned another early morning get up the following day (7am) to finish the last of the packing and start our journey to Bangkok! We travelled to the pier by taxi, by ferry to Surat Thani, by coach to the airport, flown to Bangkok with Air Asia, taken by another taxi to the Hotel - taking a whole 12 hours in total from wakeup to knock out on the bed :) annndddddd relax! Another journey complete successfully and problem free. Feel like a pro already ha (touch wood) xx
We have one full day in Bangkok before we fly to Hanoi on the 7th, however the riots are still ongoing and it's been recommended by staff in Bangkok not to venture into the city where most of the culture is to be had and so we will have to see what is lying around here for us to soak up!
Never mind, safety first :)
Ciao for now
(maybe I should learn how to say something similar In Thai - watch this space ha)
Xxx ✌
