Hi people,
We've made it to the capital! Enjoyed our 6 days in Sydney/Manly with Robert, Karen and the girls (and the cat). The ballet was AMAZING, and even the boys said they enjoyed it. It was a story of villains and beautiful young girls, complete with a swamp and lots of deaths. And some pretty good dancing. The whole experience was great, seeing it in the Opera House, having drinks outside afterwards with the Harbour Bridge lit up...magical! We also got to watch cousin Molly win a softball match with some wicked pitching, and had some lovely meals out.
After Sydney we headed inland after getting VERY annoyed with the toll system around the city. Made it to the chilly Blue Mountains, saw the 3 Sisters at night which was cool, walked to some stunning lookouts and waterfalls. Also rode the steepest train in the world, 52 degrees to the horizontal straight down like the miners used to! Roy was scared.
Headed back to the coast to Wollongong (not a great place - we saw a teenage girl fight on the street) where we caught a late showing of Australia - lots of slow motion sweaty Hugh Jackman shots and stunning Oz scenery...Then on down to Bateman's Bay, stopping at a wet Kiama to see the blowhole. Were lucky enough to see an average size water spurt, then had to get out of the rain and wind. After more rain last night , we headed out to Canberra this morning and now the sun is shining! Going to explore the capital city this afternoon.
Glad all is good (and frosty) at home. Thanks for the messages, we'll try and put photos up soon so you can enjoy our December here. Still isn't right to see Christmas trees and tinsel on the beach. Love to all, and to all a good night! XxX
