The drive from Cassino was long but we eventually reached Pompeii avoiding a drive through Naples, but not missing the traffic. We encountered scooter mayhem and various other traffic but finally reached the campsite which was directly outside the ruins.

It then started to rain. A proper rain storm, and it continued into the evening.
