Clem I did this when I was a kid, very similar view, & got shot at by a farmer with a shotgun. heard the pellets bouncing off the road.

Gazza Umm, this is meant to be fun isn't it? Sounds like a bike equivalent of the Iron Man. The tour of Britain is kicking off. I see the Bristol stage comes in thru Frampton Cotterel, very close to where you live. You could have been in the road in a deck chair shouting allez allez with a beer in your hand. Mr Jangut I see that the source of the Rhine is at 2344 metres. I hope you included altitude training in your preparations! (Ben Nevis is 1344metres high)
