We'll be starting in the birthplace of the Renaissance, Florence (or "Firenze" to my Italian friends), followed by many other stops until we finish up in the Eternal City, Roma. Lori Walker Totally agree about interacting with locals as much as you can when travelling. If you try to at least say hello and thank you in their language it goes a long way. It was great with Susan speaking Arabic when we were in Egypt and Jordan last year.
