After touring Delhi we decided to head south to Jaipur. We managed to arrange through the hotel for a taxi driver to take us for a week long tour of Jaipur, Ranthambhore and Agra. Not really the backpacking spirit but it was actually really cheap and it meant we had a guide to keep us out of trouble! We spent two nights in Jaipur and saw all three of its forts including Amber fort, where we got an elephant ride to the top of the hill and back down when we had finished seeing the place. We also saw the lake on the palace and the city court. Everything is pink which is probably why the place is called the pink city. Genius! After Jaipur we drove to Ranthambore where there is a national park with 47 tigers in it. We went on a safari hoping to be one of the lucky ones to see them as they are really hard to find. Unfortunately we just missed a mum and three cubs but we did see their tracks on the dusty road. Not quite as good as seeing a tiger though is it?! Lastly we went to Agra to see the Taj Mahal which is as impressive as they say. Got a good photo of me and Nina in Thistle tops which will hopefully be on next seasons ticket book! (One for the team there) Was a really good week and we saw so much but i cant even begin to try and explain how bizare this country is!
