After leaving Noosa we headed down towards Brisbane, we weren't suppose to stop here but we had to so we could pick up our campervan that we would be living in for the next week. The reason behind this was down to the fact that there was no available accommodation in Bryon Bay which we're visiting later on in the week.
So after a few hours of faffing around getting our campervan we soon hit the road southbound. Ross Smith had a few family friends around a 10mins drive outside of Surfers Paradise so we headed to them first. They were extremely friendly and invited us straight into their lovely house and offered us a beer, to which we obliged. As we got there fairly early they asked if we wanted to borrow their surf boards for the next few days, and as we were in Surfers Paradise you can't really turn that down. After a few hours of getting to know our new friends we went down to the beach and attempted to surf. We must have looked like idiots with our boards not knowing what to do at all, but we tried our best. After a few hours we headed back to the house to have a shower and eat dinner. The mother (Jodie) of the house is a wicked cook and made us the nicest food while we were there which we all were very appreciative of. After dinner, us boys headed back into surfers in our Beatles campervan and started our prelash. We got into the clubs around 11pm and no one had told us that everything was closing at midnight due to it being good Friday (Ross Matthews thinks this is a stupid Auzzie rule that needs to be rethought) so after an hour of dancing we had to leave.
The next day we opened our camper door to a brilliant view looking over the sea with lovely blue skies, and no hangover due to us going to bed early. We drove back up to Jodie's place, had a shower and breaky then hit the beach again to see if we had got any better skills on the surfboard. The answer was.......NO! That evening we chilled with Jodie's family and chatted the night away, it was nice to have a night in a house again though.
The next morning we got up pretty late due to us having comfy beds for once, and chilled around the house for a bit then went down the beach for a little bit of surfing. Unfortunately either Ross or Brad broke one of the surfboards so we had to put money together and get it fixed, didn't cost a lot but at the same time it's a pain in the arse. That evening we knew we were going to have a big night as we were booked on to a bar crawl that started early (5pm). We got there a bit late, but little did we know there were around 250 people on this event, biggest bar crawl we've ever been on. We went to five different clubs and got free drinks at all of them. It was a great night for all of us and we can see why Surfers Paradise has the reputation of being one of the best nights out in Australia.
The next day we woke up and had breaky out of our campervan, fried egg sandwich J Afterwards we headed back up to Jodie's to say Thank you and goodbye. We brought them some beers and wine for looking after us for a few days as well. After our goodbyes we got back on the road to Bryon Bay
