As we arrived in Bryon Bay we were all so hyped up about it due to everyone saying how amazing it is and you can't miss it on your trip. We arrived and didn't understand what all the fuss was about. It's basically a small town that has been made through tourism, you've got all your usual main street brands and fast food places. Due it being Easter bank holiday weekend and a festival close by, everyone and there dog decided to come to Bryon. You couldn't park anywhere, traffic on every street; it was a bit of a nightmare to be honest. After we found somewhere to park we headed to the beach to see what that was like, and it was like the roads........RAMMMOOO!! But the sea was still warm and enjoyable. When we went back to our van we discovered a parking ticket, we were totally confused as there were no signs saying how long you can park for etc. We soon asked someone why we had a ticket and apparently we had parked in a 1hr zone, no signs or anything. So we were all pretty fuming about that. We moved our van sharpish to somewhere with longer parking times. After the beach we headed somewhere to camp up for the night. We camped next to some other campervans so we thought it was OK to park there.
The next morning we got up and cooked ourselves some breakfast and headed back up to the beach for a day of sunshine and lazing around. In the sea the waves were fairly large and because we didn't have a surfboard we used our bodies to try and surf the waves. It was quiet hard but we got hold of a few bigguns. That evening we parked up in the same place and had a few drinking games with our new campervan friends and then headed to the only club in town called "Cheeky Monkeys", it's officially the weirdest club we've ever been too.
The next day we got woken up around 6.30am by an angry policeman who said we couldn't park there and received another ticket for parking facing the wrong (WTF), once again no signs saying we couldn't stay there. Stupid Auzzie laws! So we packed up everything and moved to the beach again. The day was pretty boring to be honest because it was raining hard all day so we just chilled in the van and regained some sleep.
The next morning we gave back our campervan after a week of not many showers and general messiness and headed down to Sydney J
