Two days here for rest and relaxation. Not a lot to do, but gives Ross a break from driving and a chance to catch up with washing, reading and doing nothing.

Drove to New Norcia today through hills with the windiest roads, heavy rain and avoiding two huge wide loads which took up two lanes of the highway. Stayed the night at the Overnight camp in the Memorial Gardens at Meckering. A very welcome, quiet spot on a very windy day. Meckering is the town which in October1968 had a 6.9 earthquake which destroyed the town. We are at Hyden Wave Rock Caravan Park for two nights. We arrived about 3 pm yesterday so just settled in and relaxed. The park is situated at the Wave Rock and entry is included in the price of the Caravan Park. This morning we went for a look. Quite impressive!!! Lots better than what I thought it was going to be. Beautiful scenery driving today through the Fitzgerald National park area. The roads were like riding a roller coaster and the roads quite narrow. This area is desperate for rain, but it absolutely poured last night so the local farmers should be happy.
