We arrived in Singapore quite late after a 2 hour flight from Cairns to Darwin for an hour stop overe before a further 6 hours to Singapore which seemed to take forever. We got on a tram to our hotel which was in the red light district and headed out for something to eat but ended up getting a sausage roll from a garage because every restaurant was in chinese/malay/mandarin and was well dodgy stuff like pig intestine soup.
The next day we went into the city centre for a look around at the sights and went on the Singapore flyer, the largest observation wheel in the world. The views were very good but there wasnt that much to see from the top except the buisness district skyline. Although you could see Malaysia from the top which was pretty cool. That night we went out for tea at a restaurant in a place called Clarkes Quay and had a few drinks around there at Clinic bar (hence the pictures in wheel chairs etc), they also served drinks through iv drips and test tubes to go with the hospital theme...it was good fun. We then went to New Asia bar on the 71st floor of the swissotel which had amazing views of the city all lit up at night, it was abit pricey but the view made up for it.
On our 2nd day we didnt really get up to much except sort out our overnight train To Kuala Lumpur for the next night. But on our last day in Singapore we went to a Sentosa Island which is the most southern point of Continental Asia and there are lots of resorts there with man made beaches. It was ok but it will be miles better in a few months when a universal studios opens there... it was a bit like a building site. That night we caught the overnight train to Kuala Lumpur which was awesome and an experience im glad we did. Overall Singapore was a good 3 day stop but we dont think we could have stayed there any longer as there isnt much to do, also the humidity was killing us!
