Ok, we have 10 days to go, but at the moment we are sitting in Wellington in New Zealand, wondering what we have forgotten.
For me, I haven't been overseas anywhere further than Australia since 1971, so this is quite an adventure.
I am not a comfortable flyer, I know the physics of it, but I still think planes don't look like they should stay up in the air. I also think that when I am in the plane, so our 22 hours of travel which predominantly is in the air causes me a bit of stress, but I will get over it.
This is the first time back to the States for Ken since he arrived here in 2010. He will see family and old haunts and we will also visit friends, and travel across from Jacksonville Florida to Seattle mainly in rental cars, so its going to be a 'road trip'.
The itinerary is, Jacksonville ..then New Orleans..then Memphis (Hi Elvis) then Moberly Missouri (Hi Troy and Amy; Matt and family). We then will fly from St Louis to Denver, pick up another rental car, and take a slow time driving up through the Rockie Mountains to Seattle.
Expect photos :) We will continue to write this blog after we arrive in Jacksonville, so keep checking out our latest adventures.

Mike Douglas Adams captured perfectly the bizarre nature of flight when he described the Vogon destructor ships as "hanging in the air the way bricks don't" But don't worry, it'll be fine. Bon voyage, and I will look forward to reading your blogs for a change :-)
