Hi everybody (anybody there?!), first of all apologies to mum who was clearly concerned at 4 days of inactivity on the blog! We've just been busy, nothing to worry about!
Congratulations go to Joan too for spotting my deliberate spelling mistake the other day... it should've been "deer", of course, not "dear"!!!
Been a very hectic few days... left Hervey Bay early last sunday on the bus to Noosa to meet up with the gang ahead of Tom & Emily's wedding this weekend. Had a great week so far... firstly, the house which Rach, me, Tom G, Mark Coleman, Luke & Anya are staying in is amazing! A balinese beach house overlooking Sunshine Beach, Noosa, which is amazing, with stunning views of the sea. Sunday night we partied at tom and emily's (rented) house which is like something out of MTV Cribs... kept expecting to see Snoop Dogg or someone come out of the toilet. Great first night, barbie and beers and Dan Clays and I unveiled our first keyboard mime rendition of Aha's Take on Me... (Don't ask, but there are lots of Norwegian's in our group!) The Aha keyboard miming would rear its head again on Tuesday night at Dingoes Night Spot on Fraser Island during Tom's stag do!
Monday night we had a big family / friends dinner at Sails restaurant. Slightly spoilt by the weather, so no great sunset, but a fab evening nonetheless. Lots of UEA boys making the trip, which is great.
Tuesday we had Tom and Emily's hen and stag do... not enough superlatives to describe the stag do really... in summary, we took Seaplanes from Noosa, landing on the sea and beach at Kingfisher resort on Fraser Island, then we took 4x4s across the island to Lake Mackenzie - which is just stunning. Crystal clear waters in an enormous fresh water lake, where there was cricket and touch rugby on the beach. Then in the evening a fab bbq on the pier after a stunning sunset. If it all sounds a bit sedate that all changed when tom started downing shots of tequila and zambuca, we had a tell-all Q&A for Tom, hosted by ITN's own Geraint Vincent and then we descended on Dingoes Bar until 3 in the morning. It was basically 19 of us and about 10 drunken staff members. Tom could barely stand up. A successful night all in all!
Emily's hen do was no less boisterous, by all accounts. A long (champagne-fuelled) lunch followed by about 8 hours of karaoke, as far as i can tell, but it sounds like they had a scream!
Last night Luke and his girlfriend arrived, so we had a quiet one and today we've been back on the beach playing cricket and rounders.
Noosa is great. Had a fab 5 days, which have flown by. Heading out now for our last evening of beers and frolics before we all up sticks and head to Brisbane tomorrow, with Tom and Emily's wedding coming up on saturday. I still don't know how i'm going to survive the heat in black tie and dj... i'm considering having all of my body hair removed to help me through it. Should be great though. Smashing group of people and looking forward to seeing Jim (Jao) and Jo Smith tomorrow.
Hope everybody's well. Miss you all!!!
