DAY TWENTY SEVEN
The last bus ride appeared on the early morning horizon, and the world seemed a much more appealing place.
The bungalow had a perfect wooden cross member for a pre-bus workout with the TRX for 40 minutes. Workouts in 90 percent humidity definitely tests ones mettle!
After a 3 hour bus journey, we forgot a bag of wet clothing ( and the smell not dissimilar to trench foot) in the rear of the bus. My pity was definitely for the bus and future passengers...it may need fumigating or potentially placed in a large incinerator.
The hotel we booked turned out to be situated above the Orussey markets, which even though sells many a good market item at an appreciable price, maybe was not the best place to have a hotel, and for us to relax in. The tuk tuk driver Sam even actively discouraged us, so the booking was cancelled and after dwelling over a wide range of Phnom Penh's finest accomodation ( with beers at 75 cents a go ), Jasmin booked a place called The Teahouse, which at 18 quid a night didn't promise too much, but we were in for a surprise...what a bargain, and what a place. We were upgraded to a premier suite and I would approximate that you would pay 70/80 quid a night in the u.k for this room.
The evening was spent sampling a few of the Gledhill special- expression martinis, spicy bloody Mary's and a couple of the dudes drink, the Big Lebowski White Russian. Good end to the day one would say.
