Hello!!
I dont know why it posted my blog 3 times yesterday but oh well.
I am delighted to say that my opinion of bangkok has improved greatly since my last post! Last night we went out for something to eat on what we thought it was the kao san road, it wasnt. None the less we picked up some really good pad thai and two large beers for about 6 quid each! Although there are constantly people trying to sell you things there is generally a friendly atmosphere. We met a couple of girls from reading who are really cool, Jacob and Jack met them on the bus from the airport and we met them later on at the restaurant. After that we wandered through the Kao San road, grabbed a few more brews (yet again only 2 quid for a large bottle) and eventually got persuaded to take a took took to a ping pong show! Curiosity turned to disgust after about 5 minutes, enough said. Today we checked out of our hotel and met the girls again and took a tour of bang kok! There was some sort of government tourist incentive day which meant we went all around bangkok for about 15 baht (30p) and saw some amazing temples and shrines. Our last stop was the Zoo, which was really cool but at this point we were too sweaty so retired to a bar. Although the protests have died down considerably there are still a lot of redshirts and army around, but the redshirts unity is amazing. You get pick up trucks full of them driving down the street and as soon as they see someone else where im Red they go Crazy and make loads of noise on marracas and stuff. Its the first time ive seen people who are so passionate about democracy so close and its quite inspiring tbh.
I think thats just about everything, sorry i cant go into more detail but we are getting a bus to Koh Phangan in about half an hour so need to go!
Hope everyone is well, please message me if you have some questions!
Rolly x
P.S. Not sunburned! (hollings you knob)
