Rohin goes around the world
Today was a great day. It had been a while since my last ride but I soon found the town bike and we got along just fine. Took her for a lovley trip along the watersfront where we spent some valuable time together. She was a bit rusty in parts and was definatly in need of some lovin but I suppose you get that when your the TOWN BIKE. She only had one gear and it was a bit stiff on the up hills but nothing like some hard work to appreciate the countryside. Think Ill take her out again tomorrow.
We spent the morning checking out the feed zones for this weekends World Championships. The course is a super highway that you could drive a lowered prosha down and not be worried at all. It was pretty funny when we came to a bridge that they had marked as narrow and it was a good 2.5 meters wide. I dont know what they are expecting on Saturday but im gessing its not going to be the Tour De France Paleton. Although with a course like this one it does mean that Lance could quite easily turn up and take the honors without really needing to know anything about riding a mtb. There are aparently some single track sections but the 40+ kms of the course we drove was just big fire road.
Its going to be tough for us on Saturday to feed them as there are major road closures due to the 15,000 hobby riders racing in the morning and to get from 1 feed zone to the next you need to drive over 60kms. There is not one direct route from one to another that we can take due to the course using the roads. There is 4 of us and we need to cover 6 feed zones plus the start and finish.
Well its going to be good to see and im sure we will get there.
Apart from that just working on the bikes, cooking the odd meal and helping where I can. Would like to be doing more riding but Canada is not far off and thats going to be great.
