Bali
Wow we arrived in Bali must say the accommodation was amazing. There is a pool with a spa. We headed off to a restaurant for dinner and watched the sunset then back to the accommodation. Then for an early night as we didn't sleep well on the plane down from Berlin, very jet lagged. Rod and I woke up the next morning at 11:30 and wow that was a bit of a long sleep.
Day one we headed to Potato Head Beach Bar then headed for a look at the shops then back to the resort for a swim in the pool. We decided to relax for the day and make some plans for the Next day. Rod decided to go up to the mountains to see the silver store to get me a ring of course.
Day two we arrived in the silver shop wow I was happy to get the similar ring that Rod had which was great then headed to the mountains.
Rod organised to go to 2 different temples. The first one was the Elephant Temple. We walked past all these people trying to sell us a sarong because you have to wear one in the temple. Lucky Rod knew we got one with our ticket. This temple was down a steep hill through rice fields. There were people harvesting rice. All the fields are steps down the hill. At the bottom is the temple. Onside is the King's tombs and the other side of the river is the Queen's tombs. They use to be big elephant heads but they have broken down over all the years. We walked around and took photos and had to take our shoes off to go into the really old part. This was small empty tombs cut into the rock wall.
The second temple was the Sacred springs bath temple. Had to get another sarong and give a donation this time. There were heaps of fountains which people walk under to be blessed. Rod said not to try because the water is not so clean really. We saw the spring and there were fish and weed growing in it. The water came out through the grey mud. Glad I did not go under the fountains.
We went back to the hotel and had a swim and lunch. Then we packed and left to catch to plane to Sydney. Which I am sitting on right now feeling very tired and Rod looks as bad as I do. Well he said that not me. Darryl says he looks fabulous. There are no mirrors in economy.
