Well after getting off the Flight and trying to find Alana Fox(girlfriend from Canada) I was pooped. I spent a good few/ couple weeks/months in Melbourne with Alana and her cousin. With a couple side trips in there as well.
It was so great to be around a familiar face. Since Alana was kinda new to the city as well We did some sights together, and a few nights out on the town. I walked her to work. Then I found the Victoria Square Markets. My new favorite place. They have everything there. But the best was the produce. So I went almost everyday and picked up what was needed to make dinner for the girls. I like to think they had a personal chef for the time i was there. Which was the least i could do since they put up with me for so long.
We also got to celebrate our birthdays together, and had another follow Canadian come for a visit too.
Will I was in Melbourne I planned a two and a half week trip to Tasmania. Also 2 day trips out of town.
One to Philip island, and Wilson's Prom. Philip Island is famous for the little fairy penguins. Unfortunately you can not take pictures of the guys. So i bought apost card for myself. I also stayed the night there and went to the prom the next morning which is a popular place for the city folks to get away. It was gorgeous. I also saw my first Wombat in the wild. I think iwas doing pretty good on the wildlife side of things.
The next trip was on the Puffing Billy Train. A old steam train. So it was easter time. There where kids every where. Not very well planned on my part but i know better now. It was great. Short but great. I guess I went on this one mainly because mom and dad had a couple years ago.
Also had a day where I went out to the Yarra Valley. Wine tasting country. I could spend weeks in each of the wine areas of OZ getting drunk and eating around them. It was coming in to Fall at the time so the leaves where just starting to change slightly. Found some delicious wines that I have drunk already. Well they didnt last long at all.
I also had the pleasure of renewing my passport while I was there. Made me very nervous. I had to send my old and other peices of identification away and hope the Auspost didnt lose it!
I have to give a huge Thanks to the girls for letting me stay. If not I would have had to work agian. Blah.
