Rob's Global Adventure!
we arrived in Fiji back on the 17th May. And myself Gray, and a couple of others booked ourselves on a trip round the Yasawa islands. And to be honest didnt really achive allot, after the active time we had just had in NZ. Mainly chilling out on the beach under the 35c sun, bit of snokerling, bit of Cava, the local fijian delicasy. Spent a day and night, on a boat which was cool, jumping off in to the clear water, along with playing alot of drinking game with the mob on board including very funny game of "ive never" I duno theese Germans, put me and Gray to shame!
But My favorite island had to be Bounty island, 48 acres of island paridise, that you could walk around in 20mins! and also once we turned up I also managed to catch up with my old uni Pal Phil, how was ever so pleased to have the extra male competition on the island ; ) More men to knock cocanuts out of trees etc.., etc.
This Particular island was used to film that crappy TV show last somer, Celebrety Love island, but dont let that that put you off it was ace! The coral and the fish off the island was great for snokerling, never seen so many coulourfle fish! The fresh water pool was still in use plus, you had free access to kayaks and Yes dad..., sailing boats! Obvioulsy with my great experiance of helms men ship we had to take one out. So my me and 1st mate/ ship cook Phil hope on one, taking a couple of our girly freinds Laura and Correy along for good measure, to sunbathe on the front whilst we did all the work! ; )
With my vast sailing experiance we manage to get to great speed in our Catermarang as Iam sure Gray will vouch for! in fact at one stage iam sure we got to walking speed!
Once Phil headed off to Perth and Gray to sunny England, we went over to Beachcomer island for the night, the "party island" meaning the bar was open to midnight! Wow, slightly sarcastic! but it was good fun, and you kinda had to get plasterd as you had to sleep in a 100 bed dorm!
This Past week ive been up in the north of the Yasawa island Fiji, learning to scuba dive, which was great fun. I got 88% in my final exam (better than anything I got at uni! ; ) and past all my under water practicals, mean iam an official Padi diver now and can be let loose on the great barrier reef!
Just arrived in Sydney thisavo (working on the lingo! ; ) and have caught up with Lucy, who we met in Fiji. Had a wander round opeara house and a coffee by the harbour bridge, very Sophisticated. In preperation for a heavy night tonight, as its her last night here before she goes bk to UK reality, and my first night here.
The plan as it stands is to recover tommorow, spend a few days here before heading up to Brisbane in two weeks time to catch up with, Phil, Ben and Matt from sunny Sheffield Hallam Uni, then were all guna head up together to Cairns, oh its a hard life! ; )
