And so it begins!
We leave for 3 months, away from family and friends. Staying in Redding USA and hooking into the life and activities of Bethel Church. 'But,' you say, 'you are home buddies, strongly family connected. This is such a big thing for you! So why are you doing this?'
Here are the main reasons for us doing this massive trip:
1. We're hoping and believing for a miraculous healing. Bethel church is a church that moves in the miraculous. There have been many significant signs and wonders that have occurred over the last decade. We are praying that this will be God's time for my (Rob's) healing.
Realistically, although I'm going with that level of faith and expectancy, I'm also being a realist such that if God chooses not to heal me then I will return to Australia with a deep desire and heart to find the purpose and plan that God has for my life in whatever physical and mental state I find myself. I choose to be totally and completely available to Him. This is my heart's desire.
2. We have been praying for several years that there will be a spiritual inpartation into our lives that will release and empower us to undertake the ministry that God requires us to do for the remaining years that we have on this earth. Our desire is for a heart change and an equipping for ministry; however that looks!
3. We want to sit under the culture of Bethel Church in the hope that some of that culture may be imparted to us and that we can bring it back into the Hawkesbury
What is that culture? It is a culture of honour; a culture where the miraculous, the operation of signs and wonders becomes normal.
So, this, our first blog sets the stage for realignment and transformation of our lives and ministry.
We live for Him!
