¡Buenas!
We stayed in Lima for three days, but there's not too much to write about really since Maccers unfortunately spent most of the time there in bed with food poisoning (all better now though :).Our first morning in Lima was very pleasant though; we started the daywith a great breakfast in a cool cafe, followed by a stroll down to the beach and a wander around the very upmarket Larco Mar mall perched on the side of the cliffs, above which dozens of paragliders circled just metres over the buildings. We went over to investigate the possibility of going paragliding ourselves, but the conditions must have changed by the time we got over there as all the paragliders had been grounded. We were really impressed with the Miraflores area of Lima though. In the day the atmosphere was really laid back and at night the place had a sort of sophisticated feel to it, with great bars and cafes, vibrant streets, and a sprinkling of modern art thrown in.You could be mistaken for thinking you were in Barcelona or somewhere like that.
We tried our first Pisco Sours in Lima, and we also ate amazing food at rock bottom prices, including the South American delicacy of ceviche: raw fish cured in lemon with red onion. We've tried it before in Nicaragua, but here it was just delicious.I must try making some at home.
