Tuesday 10th February

We arrived in Singapore at seven o'clock this morning. We had a great flight with Jet airways on an Airbus (so much leg room is was really comfortable, unlike BA). We entered Changi airport and it was wonderful! A new modern building beautiful décor, lots of space and so clean, you could have eaten off the floor, such a contrast to India and every where was so peaceful and calm. We caught the bus into the city centre, every where is so neat and tidy, we had a tour round on the bus and then got off just outside Raffles Hotel and walked down to our hotel. It was luxury to have a hot shower! There was a lack of hot water in India which is quite unbelievable considering how much sunshine they have, they haven't quite grasped the concept of solar energy yet!

We booked up the bus to Kuala Lumpur, we are moving on tomorrow morning at nine o'clock, Singapore is a very expensive city including the hotels.

Had a wander round Singapore last night, it is a very safe place and everyone is friendly. We had some 'street' food for tea, not quite sure what it was we were eating but it tasted very good, one dish was meat and fish with noodles and a coconut sauce (the fish was extremely fishy tasting), the other was minced pork, noodles and a few other unidentifiable things, but it was really cheap. There are lots of different shaped buildings which at night were all lit up.
