Saturday 7th March

We got up and checked out of the hotel quite early and headed for the coast there were three beaches which were supposed to be nice along the coast Chendor,Cherating and Telok beaches. As we travelled along it became apparent that the area was not as we had thought it would be the beaches were quite dirty and, to us not that appealing. The only beach along the coast that was nice, was the one nearest the town, Telok beach. We were very disappointed! We ended up going back to the hotel we had stopped at previous night.

Sunday 8th March

We went down to the beach we had found near the town for the day. The Malaysian people do not use the beach as we do there are no sun beds and they don't sit in the sun, there were a lot of people about but mostly sat in the shade or on benches off the beach. The sea (south china sea) was very warm. About lunch time there was a sudden influx of western people at the beach, it turns out that a cruise ship had docked and they had come to the beach for the day, we have seen very few western people especially on this side of the coast so that was a novelty.
