22nd April - SydneyWe stayed at The Lord Nelson which is the oldest brewery in Sydney and still makes beer onsite.Arriving early evening we dropped our bags and headed off to the bar to sample a pint or two and have dinner. After dinner we went for a stroll and found ourselves under Sydney Harbour Bridge. The view to the north shore reminded me very much of Hong Kong with all the buildings lit up.Next morning we headed for Circular Quay (where the Opera House is), hopped on a train and went to Central to book our tickets for the next days journey to Orange - it was a good job we did as the train was rather booked out being the last weekend of the school holidays. The weather was showery today so we thought it would be a good idea to sample some indoor activity, decided to return to Circular Quay and take the Opera House tour. The building is very beautiful inside, thought has gone into the construction with all the materials etc being chosen for their acoustical values. It is quite amazing that the seats have been designed to absorb sound at the same rate as a person so it sounds the same if the auditorium is full or empty. After hearing about the delays and over budget cost's when building the Opera House the FA should have known what to expect trusting the construction of Wembley Stadium to the Aussies! Our evening was spent sampling a few more of the beers The Lord Nelson had to offer.
