Well, we made it to Nashville, the home of country music. Got off about an hour late, which was better than we expected. Got caught up into some traffic before hitting Asheville, NC so we ventured back roads through the Pisgah National Forest. A beautiful drive, but it put us behind another two hours. So, we didn't get here until a bit late. Found our place, ate a bit and are crashing to get a good head start on the day tomorrow. Hope to see some friends, visit Music Row, eat some good food and play around Nashville for a while. I'm looking forward to seeing Centennial Park, with its Athena statue and other Roman structures. Bonus…they have a dog park.
From Risa:
Well, it was a pretty boring day. The Food Lady and the Snack Guy were walking around like crazy putting stuff in the big car, and that means a long ride. And it was. If I could understand hours, I'd say it was about 20. Fortunately, I can sleep anywhere. We did stop in the woods for a bit to eat and walk. That was the best part. Snack Guy let me get in the creek, but I don't think Food Lady wanted me to…but it was so cool and nice. It was good to stretch my legs after 32 hours in the back seat of the car. Then we got back in the car and Food Lady said something about a time change from this place to our next place…but I went back to sleep. There were a few places I couldn't go. They have these signs up that seem to suggest I shouldn't be there. Awful! I went back to sleep. I woke up once more when they got the black drink that smells good but tastes bad. I barked a few times to keep the other humans away from Food Lady. I have to do a lot of protecting. I had to bark a lot when we got to this new place with all kind of new smells…it took a while for me to find the right place to poop…but everything was better after that. Snack Guy had to keep taking me out over and over until I found just the right spot…but it was worth it, and I'm sure he saw that…even if it took 5 or 6 times trying.
I'll keep you posted,
Risa
