We caught the 6am bus to tupiza and freezed our butts off as its a really cranky old bus ( apprently Standard in Bolivia), however it only cost 4 pound for a 9 hour journey!!! Bargin! Tupiza is small but nice however its one of those places that has no cash machines and getting money is near impossible. So we were left without cash for two days and had to get a cash advance on the credit card ( we will defo feel the burn from the interest later!!). We signed up...

We ended up choosing a tour operator recommended in the lonely planets and paid 70,000 for the three day tour (that’s about 80 quid by the way!!!!) First day was an 8am start and we headed straight to the border where it was absolutely freezing, but luckily we had a nice breakfast waiting for us there!! Hola, So Salta.... we arrived from Mendoza after ANOTHER marathon bus ride and got a taxi straight to the hostel courtesy of the hostel (nice touch). Was nice and big including pool table and swimming pool. We headed straight out to book rafting, our bus to Atacama and generally have a scout around town.
