16th April

I got my dates wrong and have missed a day somewhere as this was the night we went to the dodgers game. The baseball stadium was huge, we had a little trouble at the start trying to get a $15 refund fior car park entry. The ticket booth were not understanding we wanted cash and not dodger vouchers to use inside!!! C got it sorted!!!

Dodgers were celebrating their 50th Anniversary so they gave out free dodger blankets which was cool. We saw some home runs and the dodgers won which was cool. Next day we headed for Viva Las Vegas!!!

17th April

We headed 5hours down the highway to Las Vegas stopping at some malls along the way. We got to the famous strip around 4 so headed to our hotel/casino Circus Circus to check in. The casino's along the strip were all massive and we found everyone of them hard to get around without getting lost.

That night we walked along the strip in and out the casino's - Treasure Island, Ceasers Palace (lost for 45 mins in there), We played some of the 1 cent slot machines and didn't lose that much, but we did win $3.50. We ate in a mexican along the strip before watching the Treasure Island battle of the Pirates which was so much fun and for free. We headed back to Circus Circus to play some slots before getting to bed at 2!!!!

18th April

We got uo and watched the free Circus act at the casino before walking along the strip going into New York New York (Where we won $4.50), MGM grand, Flamingo and went into the huge M&M's store!!! lots of walking. The store outlets are cool too.

At night we went to the famous Bellago and watched the water fountain show before heading in and then went into Paris (Which has the Eiffel Tower replica). Again we never got in until 2. This was Friday night so it was busy and we saw a police bust along the strip which was cool!!!

19th April

We drove to the grand Canyon via the famous Hoover Dam, The trip took 3hrs and we were staying at a cowboy ranch in a teepi in the ranch. The ranch overlooked the canyon and we all sat in the main house eating dinner. At night one of the cowboys made a fire and played the guitar and sang some songs. One of my old favs Johnny Cash!!!

It was windy at night and our Teepi was full of holes and we weren't sure how well it would withstand the wind. During the night a wild bull went passed making noises which woke us up and then around 3 our little teepi door got blown open with the wind with a big bang. C and I did not get much sleep!!!

The next morning we played some throwing of the hoofs, watched a cowboy gun fight and then took our 30min helicopter flight into the Canyon. It was magnificant and C and I are so glad we did this as we feel this made America for us.

We headed back to Las Vegas and on the way we came across the big welcome sign, I took a little road into the middle of the freeway and then done a small U turn. Lots of cars just park there to take photo's and basically abandon their cars. I decided not to and be careful, Well this high on his horse Sheriff came up behind me and as soon as I took a left back into the traffic he pulled me over. What a PLONKER. He said to me why did you do that mini U turn like the big bad boy with all the power and the gun. What did he want me to say " I stopped in the middle of the freeway like every other tourist to take a photo", instead I said I thought I missed the casino I wanted and then reaslised it was at the bottom of the strip. He said why? by this point C and I felt like Kids, I just said I made an error. He asked for my drivers licience before sending me on my way saying you may drive like that in the UK but no one drives like that in the US of A. Yeah right there are more dodger car go getters out here than anything else!!!

Anyway we went to the Stratosphere casino (which is amazing) roof top pool, Tower away high above the strip, brilliant. We went to an Italian restuarant inside and then headed to the tower to the bar called Romance which looks across the strip and has a nice jazz band. All good!!!

Betting time in the Casino and we won $10 in the 1 cent machine so we broke even. We got free drinks as well.

At night we went to bed with the next door guests baby crying all night, we eventually got to sleep and then at 3 a drunk girl tried to get into our room. I looked out the peep whole to see a girl basically standing with only her bra on, full frontal on show!!! We ended up calling security and it turned out she was from the room opposite and she said to security that she had one to many. Could only happen in Vegas!!!!

Tonight we have a show of the singing Legends and then tomorrow we head to Death Valley.

We will hopefully get the pics up soon!!! back to a little gamble.
