Today we met my Aunt Elise and Uncle Les in a town two hours north of Barcelona call Figueres. It was the home of the artist Salvador Dali and it has a very interesting museum dedicated to his work. We made things a little interesting this morning by making it to our train with 5 minutes to spare. Once we got going things went smoothly. We met up with Les and Elise in front the museum and then got a bite to eat at a local cafe. Les and Elise have a place in the south of France near the Spanish border. They had a two hour drive south to meet us. We then toured the museum and it was almost surreal (get it?!!!). The museum itself was like a piece of art. I can't say I enjoy all of Dali's art, but his museum was interesting. Because it was a day
that ended in Y, Luke wanted ice cream. We all got some and walked around the town a bit. We ended the visit by checking out their toy museum. Very nice museum with all these old (mostly) Catalan toys. We said goodbye and headed off for the train station and back to Barcelona. We decided to stay in tonight for dinner. We ate it the Spanish way, late (9pm). Special thanks to Les
and Elise for the special day!
