This morning dan and I set the alarm and had left camp by 7.50am. We arrived at the canoe hire site by 8am and by 8.10am we were in the river. The weather was gorgeous and we were almost alone on the river. The water was warm and still and perfectly clear. After a while and a small battle of wills we had it figured and had negotiated our first set of rapids. Shattered after an 7.30am 8 km canoe ride. Was superb and barely a soul on the river. Nearly capsized twice after ending up going through the rapids backwards.

Bedtime. As comfy as it can be!

After what seemed the longest drive ever we finally arrived in the Ardeche. This was longer by about an hour due to a wrong turn at the start. Anyway we are camped right by the river in a very nice and friendly campsite.
