Arrive in Cairns late afternoon after most of day on bus from Townsville - leave James behind as he's off to Magnetic Island and Mission Beach. Check into Serpents - great hostel - $2 meals - awesome, massive portions - beers at hostel with Nikki, Jayne and Florien from Whitsunday trip and hit Woolshed and PJ's.

Leave Airlie Beach (but ''it's Airlie Beach Mick) for Townsville. Look around town and marina - for 2nd largest city in Queensland shops shutting at 1pm on Sat isn't really good enough - place deserted!?!?! Have a quiet one as everyone whacked from last wk of drinking and partying on Fraser and Whitsundays.

Another early start - leave island resort for Airlie Beach - with stop off at awesome snorkelling place - loads more fish and more colours than yday! Arrive back at hostel - team nap - before night out and after party at Moroccos, Magnums, Beaches and Mama Africas.

Horrendously early 7:15am depart from jetty for day on boat - everyone feeling tired / hungover but drinking amazingly starts at 7:30am with most of us getting on the beers early. Stop at Whitehaven Beach one of best beaches on Whitsundays - weather not great but still awesome beach with clear water and white silica sand. Snorkel in sea - loads of great colour fish. One of a few people to get sea-sick as massive swell and waves. Few holes golf at resort -...

Chill out in Airlie Beach, walk round town and read on beach before boarding Pride of Airlie catamarann for Whitsundays sailing trip. Sail for couple of hrs before arriving at South Mole Island -awesome subtropical resort with golf course, tennis, pool, hot tub, great rooms. All inclusive meal before drinking games and night out in bar - great night - loads of cool people on our boat and the other boat.
