During my break from working in the country club myself Tony, Paul and Krishna headed to Hawaii. We flew from New York to Honolulu via Los Angles. When we touched down in Hawaii I could notice the humidity straight away, in Greenwich we were use to the cold and snow so it was nice to have some heat.We were staying in a hotel in Honolulu itself which was a short walk to the city. Honolulu was a very commercial city with lots of modern shops such as Gucci and every American amenity you could wish for. In Honolulu I was amazed by the number of Japanese there. In Hawaii they say that for every 1 American there is 4 Japanese on the island at any one time, and I could believe it. As well as relaxing on Waikiki beach we also went to do a few other touristy things as one does when in Hawaii. One night we went to a Luella which my boss told me was a must but when we got there we were bussed in and felt like total tourists. We got out free drink and dinner whilst watching the performance which was really put on for the tourists. On the way back we got back on the coach where our guide was really drunk and got everyone to sing songs the whole experience just felt totally cheesy and from that moment I knew that I only really wanted to have the authentic tourist experiences rather than the put on touristy experiences which are really false. We also took a trip to Pearl Harbour which was interesting as we got to learn about the attacks on the base and see some of the wreckages below the water. We also went snorkelling on a deserted beach which was really amazing where I was swimming with turtles and lots of beautiful fish. On another deserted island we went body boarding as well which was good as it had good waves and was a totally deserted island which made a change from Waikiki.
