We have had an amazing couple of days in Singapore. Saved our feet and bought a bus / boat pass for the two days as our hotel was right by the Singapore River near Clarke Quay. Arrived here on Friday. Hotel room not ready so Maureen persuaded John that sightseeing was the best thing to do. So we set off for the bus and took the first one to the Botanic Gardens and Orchid Collection. Lovely walk through the gardens, but very hot. Kept to the shade as much as possible. Took the bus the long route through the city back to the hotel for a swim. In the evening took a walk to Chinatown for walk around and meal, then boat trip to the marina. The river was far less congested than the roads!!

Saturday took the boat to the centre of city and visited the cathedral, Raffles Hotel, bus to Little India, walked through the area and returned to hotel on the bus. After a swim we walked along the river to Boat Quay and the eating houses there. Could have had several dinners, so we crossed the river and walked back along the other bank. Far less crowded!!

Up early at 5.15 as the taxi came at 6.15. Now at Changi Airport and off to Perth.
